So Bright: Reconstructed Lamps

17 Feb

Turning rusty, old things into bright new friends…

Above is a beautiful chandelier made from spectacles.. yes, that’s right glasses! And look at the way the light reflects through all the lenses onto the walls. Created by Stuart Haygarth.

Also above: mason jar lights and wire whisk lamp

Lamps above from: Poetic Home

Red, Like My Hemoglobin

14 Feb

Today is February 14th, just like any other Monday. We all secretly know what “holiday” it is, but we’re not going to talk about that… instead, we present a little red inspiration that’s deathly fun. Romantic? We’ll let you decide…

Above: Rose Wine by Sofia : Photos by Jamie Gold

The best part about Sofia Rose Wine, besides the gorgeous packaging, is the enjoyable drink within. It’s subtly sweet and refreshing, especially when slightly chilled. Highly recommended!

A collection of Anti-VDay Cards.

Gloomy Bear has his one story. He’s also pink, cute, cuddly, and oh-so bloody! What’s not to love?

What’s your favorite?

In Love: Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger

27 Jan

Swiss artists Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger have me spellbound. Their art is stunning- the kind of pieces that, when seen in person, could literally take your breath away. Their expression of the interaction of dichotomous materials, of myth, and adaptation, is at once mysterious and familiar. The process itself is intriguing, (http://www.steinerlenzlinger.ch/eye_kunstdunger.html) but perhaps most surprising is the way they write about their art. They are not explaining, so much as storytelling and you are left feeling as though the more you learn, the more open to interpretation the pieces become.

Missoni Gossip

26 Jan

For all those Gossip Girl fans out there, there’s news circulating that fashion heiress, Jennifer Missoni, will be playing a role in 3 upcoming episodes. Perhaps that’s why Leighton Meester was cast in the newest, awesome Missoni Spring campaign video? We love the colors, geometry, and wide range of models cast in this video…and of course, the signature Missoni textiles. Watch it below, and keep an eye out for both Leighton’s and Jennifer’s appearances!
