For anyone a part of their cult-following, this is big news. Belle & Sebastian is finally resurfacing after a 4 year hiatus from both tour and albums. Can’t wait another week to hear their new tunes? NPR has hooked all of us fans up, the new album, “Write About Love,” will be streaming until Oct. 11, which is its official release date. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=130212728

What do you think of the new album? Has it been worth the 4 year break or will they never sound the same as their early 2000 years?

A Magical Month with Phantogram

15 Aug

Formed in 2007, this american, electronic, experimental band carries a unique sound that is hard to pin down. Do I smell a tour? Yes, this year! See if they are in your city {here}.

These songs have been on repeat in my playlist for the past month (not sick of them yet, and don’t think I ever will be):

New Music, Dead Weather

27 Jul

The Dead Weather: Officially on tour and in Chicago this weekend…. so, of course it’s concert time!

This band truly epitomizes modern rock.  If you haven’t heard, it is made up of two amazing mash-ups: Jack White from The White Stripes and The Racantours, and the “frankly-i-don’t-give-a-damn” headbanging vixen, Alison Mosshart from The Kills.

I love her messy rocker style that makes her look like she just crawled out from the bunkers of a brutal battle at an intersection of rural natives, suburban outcasts, and urban nightwalkers… which side she is on, i still can’t tell. But i’m not complaining. *note the necklaces: Three long chains with a sword, a gun, and a grenade. Ready to kick your a** any day.

While I still don’t know how I feel about the entire ensemble of this photo, I am always a fan of Jack. And of course, one can only help but be attracted to a man in faux fur and animal bones.
